Since starting our B Corp application in early 2021, we began to focus all of our efforts towards working with clients that share a vision of using business to promote good in the world. Since gaining the status in 2022, we’ve expanded the work we do within the charity and non-profit sector.
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Refugee Forum has been one of many charity clients that we’ve worked with since embarking on our B Corp journey. NNRF offers advice, support and friendship to Nottingham’s refugees and asylum seekers through a range of means, providing hot food, running programmes to build up confidence, and offering advice on issues like housing and welfare.
As a charity, NNRF are reliant on donations from the public and the kindness of volunteers so they can continue delivering their lifesaving services. The website is an essential portal for receiving these funds and acts as a promotional tool to raise awareness and attract volunteers, while also making it easier for those who need the charity’s support to seek help.
When we were given the opportunity to update their branding, we also created a bespoke new website, including delivering a branding audit and UX update.
The results
Working with our team, the changes made turned the website into a one-stop destination for all enquiries, making it a user-friendly digital experience that could meet the needs of donors, service users and volunteers alike.
Our work on the site reduced the homepage loading time by 40%, ultimately leading to an increase in pages viewed by 24% in comparison to the year before, which also resulted in an increase in time spent on the site by 5%, as users began engaging more with the site’s content.
NNRF’s Volunteering and Engagement Manager, Barbara Dhliwayo, said: “Hallam has been a joy to work with. The constant communication and all-round friendliness of the team has enabled us to launch a successful new website. This will help us massively in increasing the number of essential donations we need for providing our vital services.”
Our Managing Director, Jake Third, said: “We’re delighted with the work that our team has delivered for NNRF and we’re delighted with the results they’ve seen. With a background in working with organisations such as the United Nations, the Prince’s Trust and Rainbow’s Hospice, we’ve got strong experience in supporting this sector and, particularly since becoming a B Corp company, we’re proud to live our belief that business should be used as a force for good.”
